John Patterson
Music Director / School Administration Manager

John started working part-time for the Manor School of Ballet when he was a teenager. He came on board full time in 2006 as the School Administration Manager and Music Director.

Shortly after his full time appointment he became an Assistant Producer for our school productions and in addition to selecting the music he also turned his hand to writing the scripts. To date, John has written our last 10 shows and he now plays an integral part in overseeing our productions.

John's music career began at a very early age with his love for piano & strings. During his time at college he was awarded a scholarship by the Church of Scotland where he studied to become an organist. He still regularly plays as a guest organist in churches all over the country.
He has worked with many choirs and singing groups and he has taught in local primary schools in Edinburgh. He has worked with children in all sections of the Youth movements and he has accompanied a variety of amateur dramatic societies in Edinburgh and around the country.

He has performed in a number of exclusive venues including the Usher Hall, Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. He has also performed in the Edinburgh International Festival & Fringe Festival and has appeared on television with STV and the BBC.
